Revival

Ezra 1:5 "Then rose up the heads of the fathers' houses of Judah and Benjamin, and the priests, and the Levites, with all them whose spirit God had stirred, to go up to build the house of the Lord which is in Jerusalem."

It is the Spirit of the Lord that brings about revival. Holy Spirit lifts you up and gives you a passion within you to seek for a revival. In Luke 15: 18, you see a son who had left the ways of his father for his own desires. He is saying to himself that he will “arise” and got to the father. Even as the son was far off, his father saw him, ran to him and had compassion towards him. Here you see a beginning of a revival.

Jesus Christ is calling you today; leave the desires that hold you down and come to the father- may a new revival take place within your heart. In Luke 115: 24, the father says that his son “was dead” but is alive again. He is not referring to a physical death but a season where there is no revival within him. His son is said to be “dead” while he was living in the world with no revival in his heart but as the compassion of the loving father falls upon him- a fresh mind is created within him, a new revival. He was “lost” but now is “found”.

Jesus in the midst of it all!

Revelations 1: 13 “And in the midst of the seven lampstands one like the son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girded about the breast with a golden belt”

In the midst of dry bones, john turned to see the glorious king. In chapter 4 of Revelation, we see that when all the doors were closed before him, God opened a new door from heaven. God is able to open doors in your life even when you feel like all hope is lost.

As you study the Bible, you see that Jesus is always in the midst of all that is going around. For example: in Daniel 3: 25, we see the giver of life “walking in the midst of fire”. The key to notice here is that: Lord was not seen by men before the three were put in fire or after they had come out, but seen while they were in the fire. The presence of the living God is experienced more strongly while going through flames. Be assured that wherever he has placed you, you are not alone; the victorious king is by your side. In Isaiah 43 the Lord says “when you walk through the fire, you will not be burned”.

John 20: 19, here we see that when the disciples gathered together in fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood “in the midst” and said to them “peace be unto you”. Where there is the presence of God, there is peace; Jesus Christ is our peace as seen in Ephesians 2:14. Revelations 5:8, twenty elders fell down before the lamb who stood in the “midst”. They worshiped the Lord saying “worthy is the lamb”. Only Jesus Christ is worthy of “glory” and “wisdom”, “honor” and “power”.

Shadow of the Almighty

Psalms 91: 1-3 “He that dwells in the secret place of the most high shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty; I will say of the Lord, he is my refuge and my fortress: my God in him will I trust”.

Many different kinds of shadows are mentioned in the word of God. For example: Psalms 144: 4, we see that the ways of man are like "shadows that passes away". In Psalms 23: 4 we come across the "valley of the shadow of death". In Job 10: 22, the effect of the shadow of death is revealed- without any “order” and where the light is as “darkness”.

If there is no order in your life, if you feel like the light is as darkness- break every chains and declare liberty in the name of Jesus.

In Job 24:17, further expansion about the “shadow of death” is given- “for morning to them even as the shadow of death”- a situation where moving forward may seem impossible. If you are experiencing the effects of this in your life, ask Jesus now to set you free. God is able to bring you out of bondage and every attack of the enemy into his glorious presence.

The reality of being in the shadow of death is further explored in Psalms 107 verses 10 onwards: “such as sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, being bound in affliction and in irons”. We serve a God who is rich in mercy. In verse 14, we see that God "brought them out of the darkness and the shadow of death, and broke their bands asunder".

In Psalms 91: 1, however we see the shadow of the Almighty under which you will "not be afraid for the terror by night nor for the arrow that flies by day". Under the wings of the Almighty you shall find refuge.
